Newsletter 10.02.17

Dear Parents,

We hope you all have had a wonderful Tet holiday with your families and are now ready for another term at school. This week we have started introducing a new story focus - The Three Little Pigs. We have introduced the story to them through a variety of ways. During story time and library, we showed them photos of the characters and objects in the story and encouraged the children to make a guess on what our focus will be. Some of them showed a good awareness of the story and made a correct guess of the book. Please follow the link to learn the story - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLR2pLUsl-Y

You may also want to recite the rhyme below with your children:

To market, to market to buy a fat pig
Home again, home again, jiggety jig
To market, to market to but a fat hog
Home again, home again jiggety jog
To market, to market to buy a plum bun
Home again, home again, market is done!

At the Funky Finger table, children were given some sticks (tongue depressor) and blue tac and were encouraged to create their own arrangement. It was a delight to see how creative and imaginative the children could be with only a few materials on hand. We have also been learning about shapes and Ms Clarissa led a discussion about them and an IWB game about sorting and finding various shapes.

This week, we are very lucky to celebrate Nana's birthday in class. She was a picture of a very jolly girl on her special day! Happy Birthday Nana!

Have a lovely weekend!

Regards,
Ms Grace, Ms Crislet and the F1 Team
