Boxes Of Hope is when you give a Christmas gift to an orphan which has, probably not been given a gift before! We're doing this cause for good reasons and for people to be happy.
You will be given this sheet and a box on Friday. On the sheet you will be able to choose if you want to give your gift to a boy or a girl. There are instructions on the sheet, and information about what to put in your present, and what NOT to put in. Here is some pictures of the sheet.
Thank you, we are aiming for 300 boxes! So make sure you put something inside that box. Thanks, Student Council
This week's focus story is 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. We taught the children the song and read the story to them too. Next week, we will continue with this focus and will do more different activities about it.
Here's the lyrics and the video of the song: Goldilocks and the Three Bears
When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears,
Oh what did her blue eyes see?
A bowl that was big, a bowl that was medium and a bowl that was small- and that was all,
she counted them 1, 2, 3!
When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears,
Oh what did her blue eyes see?
A chair that was big, a chair that was medium and a chair that was small- and that was all,
she counted them 1, 2, 3!
When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears,
Oh what did her blue eyes see?
A bed that was big, a bed that was medium and a bed that was small- and that was all,
she counted them 1, 2, 3!
When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears,
Oh what did her blue eyes see?
A bear that was big, a bear that was medium and a bear that was small- and that was all,
they growled at her Roar, Roar, Roar!
*We changed 'huge, small and tiny' to 'big, medium and small'.

* In line with nursery rhyme week, we have been learning 'Incy Wincy Spider' and 'Little Miss Muffet' this week. The children have been joining in singing and reciting the rhymes and doing the actions at the same time as part of our 'Talk for Writing'.
For some children, they were able to draw their own story map of 'Incy Wincy Spider'. Here are some of their fantastic drawings:
* For our creative activity, we tried marble painting this week. Children enjoyed shaking the basket and seeing the marbles leave marks on their paper. In the end, we had amazing spider webs and we also added 'Incy Wincy' on them.
* We have also made our very own kinetic sand with sand, cornflour, water and food colour. The children had fun mixing the ingredients and using the knives and moulds as they play with it. Please see recipe on the Messy Play page.
* For ICT, we have been encouraging children to draw on the Interactive Whiteboard using the Activ Inspire software. Most of the children were able to manipulate the IWB pen and use it to click on their chosen colours.
* This morning, we had a visit from Mr Andy Gleadhill, an educator and professional percussionist. He is currently here with us to hold percussion workshops to all classes. He gladly let the children played with an array of instruments and encouraged them to do various beats. Please see video below.

let us know on Monday so we can sort time/date and also discuss the activity.
Dear Parents, We have started a new role play area in the classroom based on most of the children's interest in the past which is Transports. All of us including the children helped create a Bus Station in F1. Children were surprised to see 2 buses made of boxes waiting for them to be painted. Some of them spent a considerable amount of time painting the boxes with the color of their choice. Those 2 lonely boxes turned into a colourful buses that the children have been playing with! This week in class, we have also introduced 4 reading buddies. These tiny, cuddly toys are here to support us in developing the children's vocabulary and language skills. Through these animals reading a story is a more fun activity to do in the classroom. We have also been focusing on the nursery rhyme, Incy Wincy Spider as part of our Talk for Writing initiative at school. 'Talk for Writing enables children to imitate the key language they need for a particular topic orally before they try reading and analysing the story.' In F1, we have been using exciting props, pictures and drawings to make it easier and fun for the children to understand and learn a story or rhyme. Splash pool was a success this week as the children have shown confidence in the water. We are very excited to have another session next week! Please make sure to let your children bring in their swimming kit to school (swimming costume and towel - all properly labelled). In Maths, we have been using coloured chains in learning/saying numbers names in random and in sequence. Some children can say numbers names to 10 and are showing awareness of counting objects too. A new addition to the Messy Play idea can be found here. (please click the link) Three new children joined F1 this week, I know you will all join us in welcoming Long, Tony and Chi and their families into BIS Tu Xuong campus! Just a quick reminder about 2 upcoming events at TX * International Celebration - week beginning 14th November (children dressing up in their national costumes) * EYFS Family Morning - Saturday 26th November (more information to follow)
Have a lovely weekend! Regards, Ms Grace, Ms Crislet and the F1 Team
